Meet Suna Hall
I'm Suna Hall - a Neurodiversity Coach and NeuroInclusion Consultant based in Cape Town, South Africa. I work with neurodivergent teens, adults, parents, couples, and families, and I also consult to schools and businesses on creating more inclusive, affirming environments for ND people.
I'm also a neurodivergent person, partner, and parent - which means I bring both professional training and genuine lived experience to every client I work with.
“I look back with empathy for my younger self. I don’t want the teens and adults I work with to spend years wondering what’s wrong with them. Nothing is wrong with them. They just needed someone in their corner.”
My story
My journey to neurodiversity coaching is deeply personal.
I was born and raised in Chicago, lived across multiple cities and countries, and settled in Cape Town in 2010. As a child in the 1980s, I was diagnosed with Dyslexia and Auditory Processing differences - but no one ever mentioned ADHD. I struggled with school, anxiety, and self-doubt throughout my teens and twenties. I knew I was smart, and yet I couldn't force myself to finish things, to study without the pressure of a deadline, or to shake the sense that I just needed to try harder.
It was only in my mid-thirties - after my eldest child was diagnosed with ADHD - that my therapist suggested I get assessed. I laughed at first. I thought he was joking. But once I received my own ADHD diagnosis, so much of my life began to make sense.
Watching my children navigate the same challenges I'd faced - being scolded at school for not sitting still, struggling to organise their thoughts, feeling different without understanding why - I saw everything through a new lens. And I knew I wanted to do something about it.
Before opening my coaching practice in 2022, I spent 22 years as a non-profit strategy, fundraising, and communications consultant. That work gave me a deep understanding of systems change and the power of inclusive environments - principles I now bring into every coaching relationship.
I hold a BA (Hons) in Psychology from the USA, completed coursework toward a Masters in Social Work, and trained as a coach through the UCT Graduate School of Business in 2022. I've since completed additional short courses specialising in ADHD and Neurodiversity Coaching as well as DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy).
